There has to be
a better way
The classic answer to the question “How do you get to Carnegie Hall?” is “practice, practice, practice”.
Revenge, hatred, fear, blaming, attack, and defense, have become the human pattern; a self-destructive downward spiral of insanity where no opinions are changed, nobody wins, we widen the separation between us, there is no peace and nobody is happy. There has to be a better way.
Love is what we were born with. Fear, the opposite of love, is a distortion that we have been taught. The way of the world is fear.
Our lives are directed by our thoughts. To practice peace is to become aware of thoughts of attack and defense, realizing that you have the option to see things differently, and you can allow fear-based images to pass through without becoming stuck in your head. Our behavior follows. The way to peace is also the way of peace.
This practice is for you. Others will not learn peace from your words or the judgements you have laid upon them. You need not even speak a word to them. As you change your thinking, you’ll transform how you experience your life and how you see, and relate to, others — and ultimately, you do your part to change our world.
Practice, practice, practice.
